Joe Gibbs rip
JOHNNY CLARKE – “Take Heed” Produced by Joe Gibbs and Errol
He is less known then Lee Perry or King Tubby but Joe Gibbs was a legendary dub and reggae producer. He died of a hear attack. Together with his rhythm combo Sly and Robbie he created some legendary tunes, including uptown ranking. The Guardian wrote an obituary.

hello, you may be interested in hearing, (if you don’t already know it), the original of ‘uptown top ranking’ by Alton Ellis, recently posted, (musicology #93), on a week long musical tribute to Alton over on my musical diary
it’s a Studio1 cut, (I’m Stll In Love With You), which inspired the Trinity DJ version, (Three Piece Suit), which in turn inspired the Althea And Donny.

huge loss to reggae. there will be no other. classic reggae from mr . gibbs. rip.
