Jonathan Meese: classic or dud

I don’t know. Yesterday there was a documentary on German artist Jonathan Meese. He’s a friend of Daniel Richter and some of his work is really beautiful. But there’s also the well curated old skool art genious aspect to his work, full of old skool shock tactics etc.. I’m curious about your opinion.

Can anyone touch Martyn right now? Sure, he didn’t invent the techno/dubstep fusion genre. Villalobos and Shackleton probably get the credit for that. Nor is he the only one doing exciting work in the stepno vein—Appleblim and Peverelist are making stunning music of a similar style. But Natural Selection, his second release for his very own 3024 imprint, is only the latest piece of evidence that Martyn is running away with the style. read more.
